The Wairarapa has a wonderful selection of local produce and the best place to find them is at the Wairarapa Farmers’ Market, every Saturday morning in Masterton. Shop for vegetables, herbs, cheese, artisan products, bread, olive oil, organic meat, fish and more. A local supplier sells fresh in fish in Martinborough square every Sunday morning (weather allowing).

Cooking Classes - Take a Carême cooking class where you will create good food and then enjoy it. Based at Palliser Estate winery in Martinborough the day is designed around creating fresh and tasty food matched with outstanding Palliser wines.

Wairarapa Art Trail - Branch off the main artery of SH2 to meet practising artists working in their own creative environment. Appointments are usually necessary.

The swimming pool is right next to the holiday park and is open during the afternoons from mid November until March and we have a children's playground.

Pukaha Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre - Approx 1 hour drive from Martinborough you can get close to some of New Zealand’s most threatened native birds, view kiwi in the nocturnal house, feed the eels at 1.30pm and the kaka at 3pm every day. We are proud to sponsor 4 hectares of native bush at Pukaha Mt Bruce to fund pest eradication programmes.

Head to the Beach - There are family friendly beaches at Castlepoint and Riversdale, 90 mins drive from Martinborough.

Department of Conservation Parks - Activities in Department of Conservation (DOC) areas include tramping, mountain biking, four wheel-driving, hunting, fishing and bird watching.

Tora Coastal Walk - This three-day private walk encompasses a variety of stunning and diverse scenery: expansive farmland, native bush, river valleys and the spectacular Tora coastline.

Golf - Established 100 years ago the Martinborough Golf Club has an established course with mature trees, well kept greens and fairways, and is a full 18 hole, par 72 course, 5546 metres in length. The clubrooms feature bar facilities, catering and changing rooms.

Horse Trekking - Patuna Farm Adventures offers a range of options for horse trekking from 1 hour to full day treks with horses matched to the rider’s ability.
